While recently picking up my daughter from our church’s AWANA program, a neat husband and wife stopped me to show me a picture on their phone. Mr. R. asked me to check out a picture that reminded him of a bump. (At first, I thought he was telling me someone was pregnant!) Then, in awesome fashion, he said, “Bumps are okay, right!?” (Then, I caught on!)
It was a refreshing thing for me to hear. It is always a good reminder to hear that bumps are okay.
Mr. R. had no idea on that Thursday evening that his words would encourage me later that night. I woke up in the middle of that night and then panicked about sleep because I had to wake up earlier than usual that coming morning.
Mr. R’s words then penetrated my thoughts. “Bumps are okay, right!?”
That sleep bump was okay.
THEN, I woke up earlier than planned that morning because I thought I heard one of my children wake up extra early. I almost had another panic moment. Yet, I heard Mr. R’s words again. “Bumps are okay, right!?”
Thanks so much, Mr. R! Your fun phone picture and reminder of words were a true encouragement to me.
Bumps are okay!
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ...
